Mary-Jo Monk appointed as new Executive Director of 211 Nova Scotia
21 April 2022The Board of 211 Nova Scotia is pleased to announce the appointment of Mary-Jo Monk as the new Executive Director of 211 Nova Scotia.
We are happy to welcome Mary-Jo Monk as the new Executive Director of 211 Nova Scotia. Mary-Jo comes to 211 from the Nova Scotia Department of Health and Wellness. She holds a Master of Arts in Sociology and brings 25 years of experience in provincial health and social policy, programs, and service improvements. Mary-Jo has led several strategic initiatives, cultivating productive partnerships with community organizations and across the public sector.
“I am pleased to join the 211 Nova Scotia team and support the inspiring mission to serve Nova Scotians,” says Mary-Jo. “I look forward to working with the Board and 211 team to continue to deliver this important service and am excited to collaborate with existing and new partners to further enhance our work.”
Our previous Executive Director, Jeff Fraser, is departing 211 to support the Nova Scotia Department of Health and Wellness as healthcare continues to transform across the province. “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the 211 organization, and this was not an easy decision to
make. 211 Nova Scotia has a fantastic team for whom I have the utmost respect and admiration,” says Jeff. “Their compassion and dedication to help Nova Scotians navigate through many challenges is commendable.”
Through his passion and enthusiasm for our mission, Jeff helped build solid relationships with partners across the province and lead the development of the organization’s strategic plan. Join us in wishing Jeff the best with his new endeavors.
