The Ms?t Mijua'ji'jk supports community-based programs and staff to:

• Walk alongside pregnant women and their families during pregnancy and the first few years of their child's life
• Design programming that supports overall child development and family well-being, and fits the needs of individual families and communities
• Provide training and learning resources that reflect Mi'kmaw culture, language and values

The Ms?t Mijua'ji'jk is a collaboration between Tajikeim?k and The Martin Family Initiative.

A prenatal program that provides expecting parents knowledge of their health and baby's health through pregnancy.

A postnatal program for new mothers and their babies to socialize while discussing positive health and parenting styles.

Offers monthly meetings where leaders facilitate informal, guided discussions for mothers on breastfeeding. Offers telephone and email help to nursing and pregnant women who are seeking breastfeeding information. Provides free prenatal breastfeeding classes. Offers healthcare professional courses on continuing education for lactation.

• Provides individual help on breastfeeding over the phone or by email for people who cannot access the meetings in person or are uncomfortable speaking in front of a group.
