Offers a self-referral list of family medicine providers who have extra experience with prenatal care, low risk deliveries, and postpartum care (up until the patient leaves the hospital), and are open to taking new patients for the duration of their pregnancy.
Family Medicine providers follow pregnant patients in their community clinics and deliver babies at the IWK.
During pregnancy, the baby can also be added to the Unattached Newborn list to ensure the baby has care for the first few months of life while awaiting attachment to a long-term doctor.
