Description
A provincial program that helps eligible Nova Scotia residents undergoing cancer treatment with assistance for costs related to boarding, transportation, and ostomy supply needs including:
  • Either mileage costs or shuttle/taxi service for travel to medical appointments
  • Boarding assistance will be considered for residents who must travel more than 50km one way from their home to treatment centre
  • The boarding and/or transportation cost of a travel escort, who, in the opinion of a physician is considered essential
  • Cost of ostomy supplies if not covered by private healthcare insurance
Eligibility
Residents of Nova Scotia who are cancer patients and have a valid Nova Scotia health card and a gross annual family income of $35,000 per year, or less
