MSI – Children’s Oral Health Program

Service Description

Covers some basic dental care services for children age 14 and younger who have a valid MSI health card number (Nova Scotia health card number). Once a year, the program covers:

  • 1 routine dental exam
  • 2 routine x-rays
  • 1 preventative service such as brushing and flossing instruction or cleaning

Fillings, necessary extractions and nutritional counselling are also covered by the program. Fluoride treatments are sometimes covered.

Green Shield Canada administers the MSI Dental Program on behalf of the Government of Nova Scotia's Department of Health and Wellness.
