Service Description
Offers payment options for people who cannot afford ambulance fees.
If an ambulance fee will create financial hardship, a repayment schedule may be offered. If ambulance fees cannot be paid based on income level, people can apply to have the fee waived.
Eligibility
Applicant must:
• Be a resident of Canada
• Not be a recipient of Employment Support and Income Assistance through the Nova Scotia Department of Community Services
• Not be eligible for other federal/provincial government programs that cover the cost of ground ambulance transportation
• Not be covered by third party insurance that covers the cost of ground ambulance transportation
Application Process
Call EHS billing office, visit office, or print application off of website • Application must be received by the billing office within 90 days from the date the invoice was issued
Documents Required
Completed application form • Household Notice of Assessment forms from the most recent tax year
