Service Description

Provides assistance to homeowners to make major repairs or renovations to their homes to meet the minimum level of health and safety standards.

Eligibility

They look at a variety of factors to determine the amount of funding you will receive. These include:
• Annual household income
• Household size
• Household location

Your home must also require repairs to any 1 of the following major areas:
• Structural
• Framework
• Plumbing
• Electrical system
• Heating system
• Fire safety

Once your application is approved, you must sign an agreement to stay in your home for at least 10 years after the repairs are completed

Application Process

If you would like to apply for this program, you will need to complete an application form for housing assistance and discuss your specific needs with the staff at your local Housing Nova Scotia office. Housing Nova Scotia staff will then review your application and contact you to let you know if you qualify for assistance.
