Service Description

Aims to reduce the number of deaths from colon cancer in Nova Scotia. Offers a screening program designed to help detect cancer and pre-cancerous growths. If found early, colon cancer is preventable and treatable. The program provides collection kits to eligible Nova Scotians.

Eligibility

Residents of Nova Scotia between the ages of 50-74 years

Application Process

Call the toll-free number to request a kit or email cancercareinfo@nshealth.ca

Kits are sent out automatically to residents of Nova Scotia between the ages of 50 and 74 every two years on their even birthday (50, 52, 54, etc.). Other ages should discuss their needs for screening with their family doctor. Contact your family doctor for any questions resulting from test. You can opt out of the program by calling Cancer Care Nova Scotia or by filling out the form that comes with the kit.
